I’ve lived in a lot of places and I can’t say one has felt more like home than any other, because I feel connected to so many locations. Place is multifaceted and layered with human histories, memories, and connections. How we define it is inextricably linked to our individual memories woven amongst the geography of the locations we’ve been.

This collection of personal essays documents some of my experiences as a designer, traveler, observer, and collector. The way I move through the world has influenced my design process in more ways than I realized, even now. What started as an exercise in documentation through storytelling has evolved into a way of bringing you with me to specific moments in my past. These stories begin to reveal my process of making visual connections between memories and examining how design can be used to transport you to places you never thought you were capable of going.
